We do not collect personal data beyond what is strictly needed to provide the service. When you use our scam checker, we store the content you submit (the message text or URL) so we can improve scam detection over time.

PII scrubbing

All submitted content is automatically scrubbed of personally identifiable information (PII) before it is stored. Names, phone numbers, email addresses, and bank details are removed or replaced before anything reaches our database.

Cookies

We use cookies only for rate limiting purposes. A session ID cookie is set to enforce fair usage limits (5 free checks per day). We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics that identify individual users.

If you subscribe to our weekly scam alerts newsletter, we store your email address for the purpose of sending you updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.

Affiliate links

When you click an affiliate link on our site, we record the click (which partner and which page) to track commissions. We do not share any personal data with our affiliate partners.
